Chrissy Bernazzani is a Certified Nutrition Educator & soon to be Consultant with Eat2Bee Healthy Nutrition, and she will be offering a free 4 week series on the basics of whole food nutrition partnered with the Bauman College Wellness Program.  This format is not like her previous 1-2 month food challenges or sessions offered at CFSL and will not be a paleo-centric approach.  This 4 week series is a great jumping off point for those interested in learning the basics of nutrition, focusing on the Bauman College Eating 4 Health model.  Doing crossfit, working out and leading an energetic healthy life go hand in hand with eating good quality foods and this 4 week series of classes will help you learn to accomplish this goal.  Typically a training series of this magnitude would cost around $50-75 per person when offered by Chrissy.  Since this is a collaborative effort with Eat2Bee Healthy and the Bauman College Wellness Program this will be offered for free in September.  
Details: This class series will cap out with 20 participants.  Of those 20 signed up there will be 2 participants drawn randomly to work with Chrissy one to one for 6 personal nutritional counseling sessions.  These sessions will be focused around the tools learned over the course of the 4 week class series.
4 Week Class Series – Requirements:  Attendance is requested of all participants so that you can learn the most from this series.  If something does come up please let Chrissy know ahead of time that you will be missing one of the classes.  All of the participants must be over the age of 18, or have a legal guardian sign for their attendance into the classes.
Schedule for 4 week class series: The classes will not run over 1 hr.  Please plan on arriving a little before 2:30pm so we can get started on time.
Class 1 – Sunday, September 8th from 2:30-3:30pm
  • Introductions – forms, materials, handouts, etc
  • Lesson 1 – Eating for Health
Class 2 – Sunday, September 15th from 2:30-3:30pm
  • Recap of previous week, handouts, quick questions, etc
  • Lesson 2 – Lean Protein & Clean Fats
Class 3 – Sunday, September 22nd from 2:30-3:30pm
  • Recap of previous week, handouts, quick questions, etc
  • Lesson 3 – Colorful Complex Carbohydrates
Class 4 – Sunday, September 29th from 2:30-3:30pm
  • Recap of previous week, final handouts, etc.
  • Lesson 4 – Gain Energy & Lose Weight
6 Nutritional Counseling Sessions:  2 participants will work for free with Chrissy over the course of 4 weeks, consisting of 6 NC sessions together.
Tentative NC 6 Session Example:
Session 1 – Initial intake appointment will last anywhere from 60-90 minutes and this will be taken in person with each of the 2 participants selected at random from the class participants.  We will schedule time together in the week following class 1, and ideally this would take place on midweek following class 1.
Session 2 –  45min-1hr session typically completed in person, but can also be offered over the phone, skype or facetime.  Whatever works best for the participants.  We will schedule this time together in the week following class 2, ideally midweek following class 2.
Session 3 − 30-45 min session completed via phone, skype or facetime.  We will schedule this time together in the week following class 3, ideally this would take place on the Tuesday following class.
Session 4 − 30 min session completed via phone, skype or facetime. We will schedule this time together on the Friday or Saturday before we conduct class 4.
Session 5 − 30 min session completed via phone, skype or facetime.  We will schedule this time together in the week following class 4, ideally this would take place on Tuesday following class.
Session 6 − 30 min session completed via phone, skype or facetime.  We will schedule this time together on the Friday or Saturday following class 4 in the 4 week series.
Chrissy will have a sign up sheet at the front desk of Crossfit San Leandro starting, Tuesday 8/27.  Everyone interested in joining the series, must be signed up by Tuesday, September 3rd.
