Why sign up for things like the Pull Up Challenge, Internal Competitions, the CrossFit Games Open, etc?  The push yourself, to do something that will spice up your fitness life, to have some fun with friends, to focus on a specific goal, and the list goes on.  My real question is why not?  I know a lot of people worry they aren’t capable of completing the workouts or worry about looking like a fool trying.  First of all, we do weighted bridges at CFSL, we all look like fools.  Ok, I am kidding, well only a little.  My point is, who cares what you look like or how you finish the workouts?  If you are pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone and trying new things, you are winning!  We are going to have fun with the Open this year!  Register on games.crossfit.com.

Monday’s WOD:

Box Jumps:  8x3reps at a higher box than you would use for a harder workout.  Ex: if I am capable of doing a workout with a 24in box with a lot of reps, then maybe I will do a 30in box for all five sets.  This is not a max, just a chance to jump a little higher.

AMRAP 13min

40 Double Unders

16 Single Leg V-Up

12 Russian KB Swing (70lbs/53lbs)

*Scale the weight as needed for the KB.  120 Singles if unable to do double unders.

This made me laugh.

Guys, we do Jefferson deadlifts. Nothing in The Open will look nearly as silly 🙂

I would encourage anyone on the fence for the open to do it. I always said I wasn’t going to then the past two years caved to peer pressure. It was actually super fun and I realized I would have been really sad if i hadn’t signed up. It’s hard, it can suck for moments, but the camraderie and mass suffering makes up for it. It’s a blast. Both years I eneded up doing something in a WOD I thought was impossible. Sign up!
